Research Finding: 1-Minute Vigorous Workouts Can Improve Health

 

A 2019 study published in The Journal of Physiology found that less than 5 minutes of vigorous exercise were capable of improving blood sugar control as well as heart and lung function.

A study published in January 2022 in the journal Exercise and Sport Sciences Review found that performing short bouts (1 minute) of vigorous exercise was effective to improving heart and lung health and reducing the impact of a sedentary lifestyle on cardiometabolic health.

A study published in the December 2022 issue of Nature Medicine found that getting small amounts of vigorous physical activity throughout your day is linked to a reduced risk of dying.
